Ryan is a qualified High School Teacher and Guidance Officer. As part of his Masters, he investigated how to shift emotions through meditation and how that affected the autonomic nervous system and chemicals of the body. The degree also included counselling theory and practice, psychopathology and mental health research. Ryan has taught meditation techniques to high school students to great effect. He has pulled from cognitive behavioural theory, meditation theory, heart rate variability analysis and awareness of hormones and neurotransmitters to explain and coach what practical changes can be made to improve sleep.
The Sleep Coach methods are based on understanding what makes our minds and body sleep ready and being aware of all elements that hinder it. From there we can influence ourselves through new understandings that guide the actions we take. Changes have to be made to experience different sleep results.
